The thing about Sakho is that you'll all soon be riding his BBC and calling him a great defender once Sky and the Match of the Day 'tards realise how silly they were judging him off a poor pass or two and start telling you all he's a great player.

Like i said before, with the way Sakho plays he's always gonna make a mistake or two.

He takes risks.

Yes, he could boot the ball out into row Z every time he went anywhere near it and cut out the mistakes and lose the tag of being poor on the ball because he never daren't do anything on the ball but we'd lose so much from his game.

That's the thing with ball playing centre backs, they are such a massive advantage to have in your side but there'll always be a chance they'll make a mistake and cost you a goal now and then.

It's our philosophy though, any other manager would have jumped down Sakho's throat after his first 6-12 months here and started forcing him to get rid of the ball everytime he got it after the mistakes he made when he was settling into the side.

But Brendan said no, take your time, play it out, it's ok if you make mistakes cos that's our philosphy, we take risks.

Yeah Sakho made a few mistakes when he first arrived, and probably will make a few more in the future given the way he plays but you have to look at the difference his forward passes make to our side, god knows how many goals have started from a Sakho pinger into the midfield.

Brendan gave him time, and look at Sakho now. He's probably the most confident on the ball player we have! Just look at the body feints he did on Rooney and Falcao

Just look at the recent compilation i posted of him against Man Utd, all of you.

That's all i ask.

Just watch that, it's only two minutes long, watch it fully.

And then tell me Sakho is average.

It's not an obsession, it's more of a insistence that he's a top player. Especially when there's this weird misconception about him that he isn't all because Martin Keown and a few of the Sky ****s might have seen him make a mistake or two when he first arrived.

Now which other CB in the league can you think of who would pull off something like that?

That was such a clever bit of play from Sakho and that could well have lead to a goal.

There was a bog standard pass on there for Hendo to play to put Lallana clean through which Hendo somehow managed to over hit, he should have put Lallana clean through there and Lallana would have been one on one with De Gea. All which began from Sakho's playing out from the back.

There's many other epic moments in that video but that was the one which stood out for me, that's what he's all about.

I think most fans don't care once their own team are knocked out.

I don't know any footy fans that root for the other English teams once their own side goes out. Liverpool fans didn't start cheering for Man City once they were out. Arsenal fans don't cheer on Chelsea once they are eliminated. That's not how it works.

I actually agree that Sakho is a brilliant player. I don't think he's the top defender in the Premier League yet, but if he gets a full injury free season under his belt he may one day earn that tag.

I still find the obsession that the Liverpool fans in this thread have with him a bit weird though.

He's not even been the best player at Anfield this season.

I don't see how he's earned that sort of adulation yet.
