the best cartoons were slapstick comedies. that being said, Tom & Jerry conquered all with Looney Toons falling closely behind.
all of the macho action cartoons were fuckin ****** and watched by the same paste-eaters that rammed Tonka trucks into walls over and over again, then grew up bagging grociers during the day and watching anime horse**** during the night. course i still watched He-Man, GI Joe, Thundercats, etc. but that was just because there was nothing else on in the 80s. we had 13 channels and the other 12 were showing soap operas, the news and public service announcements.
as mentioned earlier in this thread, all that sword fighting and gun shooting crap was useless in those cartoons since nobody ever got shot, sliced, stabbed or killed. they did in slapstick comedies though!! how many times would Tom the Cat get a sledgehammer smashed into his skull or get sprayed by a machine gun and then take a drink of water only to have it leak out of all the bulletholes?? that's right bitches.
What was that game show on ITV or BBC 1 where someone was sent into a game with a helmet on their head so they could not see and their friend had to navigate them around the game.
