          A Chinese gene company selling prenatal tests around the world developed them in collaboration with the country’s military and is using them to collect genetic data from millions of women for sweeping research.

          The technology could propel China to dominate global pharmaceuticals, and also potentially lead to genetically enhanced soldiers, or engineered pathogens to target the U.S. population or food supply, the advisors said.

          The company has published at least a dozen joint studies on the tests with the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) since 2010.

          Beijing made clear in a 2019 regulation that genetic data can be a national security matter, and since 2015 it has restricted foreign researchers from accessing gene data on Chinese people. But the 2019 regulation does not apply to data that is collected from foreigners.

          Shenzhen-based BGI shot to global prominence last year after selling or donating millions of COVID-19 test kits and gene-sequencing labs outside China. U.S. security agencies warned this was part of an effort to collect large amounts of foreign genetic material.

          BGI said this year it has built 80 COVID-19 labs in 30 countries, which it plans to repurpose for reproductive health screening.

          In August 2010 BGI started work with another military institution, the Third Military Medical University in Chongqing. Liang Zhiqing, vice chairman of the Chinese People's Liberation Army           Institute of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and BGI researchers have published at least five joint studies based on data from women who took the test at the university’s prenatal clinic.

          Liang’s work was funded by the Chinese government as a "Military Medicine Innovation Project".

                I mean honestly there is inflation either way cuz of our house of cards debt driven economy so wages SHOULD be going up more than they have been. Not sure what difference MSM matters with that. But yea I don't disagree all the media folks talk about most whether, R or D leaning, aren't worth paying attention to for the real news. Better to **** with Reddit or Twitter for middle of the road news that sees the issues with The Government or The Problems in our world regardless of the political fanboyism.

                  Increase in wages don’t help if everything around you increase in price too

                  I’m better the rise in prices will be more than the raise

                  businesses want to charge as much as they can and it isn’t in their best interest to pay workers more

                  but hey these rona scared Americans azzked for lockdowns and now they get to pay for it. Gov printed buncha cash during lockdowns

                  now that lockdowns are over and people are out having a good time the economy is flooded with money

                    It helps a hell of a lot more than prices increasing & you not getting an increase in wages which is what we've been doing for the last decade & change or whatever.

                    Wages need to go up with inflation is what I'm saying & it hasn't been doing that. Inflation is a part of our economic system, like it or not, so wages need to be changing with inflation or its just one more way the rich get richer & the poor get poorer in the US.

                      I don’t feel bad for the pro lockdown poors. They took short term pleasure in the form of “free money” from the government. Now they get to get ucked in the long run

                      Inflation will outpace any raises and workers will be worst off than before the lockdowns as they have less buying power
