I don't understand why everyone has such a hard on for BUYING old ass games on the Wii. You can already download free basically any game and many you can even play on your PS2 or Xbox if its modded. Which pretty much all you need is a halfway decent graphics card and just output to TV if you don't want to play the old games on your computer. Much cheaper solution for retro gaming, and MUCH bigger library of games.

And the Wii controller, I bet it will get old very quickly with playing games by swinging your controller. I think that part of the Wii is more of a novelty than something that will have much longevity. If I wanted to swing a bat and pretend I'm playing baseball, might as well get a wiffle ball and actually go outside.

Same with PS3's controller having the tilt technology. I hope every game doesn't try using that because that will get annoying having to hold your controller perfectly still if you don't want to accidentally tilt. That motion sensor stuff is all novelty junk I think.

Really it gets down to who makes the games you prefer to play. And with more and more games falling across multiple platforms, it's going to come more to system loyalty and maybe practical features. I guess all the systems will be DVD players, but nobody is going to care about this now. You can buy a good DVD player for $35 from wal-mart anytime you want. I know for sure the PS3 will be the first blue ray player I own. Probably the only one I own until the damn things come down to around 150 max. $500 for a blue ray player and new video game machine is a damn good deal. Thats for casual people. Those who are buying it more because its a PS3, 600 for the bigger hard drive I guess. And HDMI.

        Maybe PS3.

It just looks so damn cool.

**** the Wii, by the way. My brother bought our family a 42 inch Panasonic High-Def Plasma TV for Christmas and an Xbox 360 for me. I was going to get a Wii instead to save money, but then I ****ing found out that it's got no High-Def support. Dumb move IMO, considering the number of households that have HDTV's is increasing fairly rapidly.

yeah and it'll increase even more so in 2008-2009 when we're all having to get new TVs that are digital ready. except for the dumbasses that buy the digital receivers that their tvs still won't properly handle. and widescreen 1.85:1 format will be the standard then too.
