Nintendo Fusion: Nintendo's next console?

There are rumors that Nintendo is working on their next home console. According to Nintendo News, Nintendo's next console is, from what I can gather from the article, is a hybrid of a home console and a handheld, hence the name Fusion, I guess.

Links gone down but I still can't get over the fact of how AWFUL Wii U was in pretty much every way.

I still have my Gamecube and play it here and there. They need to ensure developers will actually bother developing for it unlike last time with the Wii U. Nintendo is a pretty awesome company historically but they slipped, which is acceptable because so did Sony with the launch of the PS3 (they picked it up gradually with the exclusives) and Microsoft with the whole Xbox One debacle. It's all about moving forward and planning your next 2-3 moves well in advance, I don't feel they did that last time round.

I think Nintendo is in the same situation as Sony was last gen: Coming off a gen where their console dominated, only to make a console that's hard to develop for, and had no games at launch.
