I just found my first Legitamate reason to own a next gen console

I just finished Metal Gear Solid 4, and It immediately made me a hardcore fan. This series is a masterpiece. I heard Metal Gear Solid 3 was even better, and i'm picking that up soon.

If I have to buy a Next Gen console to play just one game , this is it.

MGS is probably the only big critically and people acclaimed gamed that i could have owned and have never jumped on purpose. I'll save it for someday I guess it just never seemed my cup of tea when i first played it on ps1 the stealthy crap turned me off maybe is better than the bit I tried we will see someday.

I remember playing a demo for the first one on my uncles playstation and really diggin it. My parents always thought sony's content was too mature for my age, leading to them buying my an n64 for my 9th birthday instead. If I had cooler parents though I bet I'd be a diehard MSG fan today, I've just never been bothered to pick up with the series again.

don't know how you pick up MGS4 if you never played any of the other games MGS4 was basically 90% cutscenes homage to the earlier games in the series I would imagine playing that game without context would be super boring.
going back to shadow mosses to where you fought the hind D was epic though

I just pieced it together myself. Also War and the atrocities that it forces men to make and the monsters it turns them into is one of my favorite subjects, so I was already into it by the first 2 or 3 hours. I googled whatever I didn't understand, and ended up reading all about the stories of the first 3 games before I got halfway through the game.

I'm not into stealth games either, but I had why so many people rate this game so highly. I bought the game and told myself I was going to beat it no matter what, and I'm glad I did.

              Now I can't wait to play MGS3.

The whole series is tremendous. Probably my 2nd or 3rd favorite series ever.

Solid Snake has to be one of the greatest soldiers in storytelling.

His body was completely broken and he was surviving on his great will alone, which could not be stopped. He was constantly on the brink of death, his body falling apart, being sustained by his suit and cigarrettes, but he always completed his mission.

And to test him, he had the greatest rival of all, a mirror of himself in strength and power to test his every limit.

Even his own father said that he didn't consider him his son, but his brother. And that above all else he respected him as a soldier.

I don't know the whole origin of the Metal Gear Bloodline yet but all of the snake clones including liquid ocelot seem share one thing in common: they're all the perfect soldiers.

And Solid Snake outlasted them all.
