COD4 was pure. Then they wrecked the series with outrageous kill streaks.

Only FPS I've really played are Bioshock/Bioshock Infinite. Never cared for that first person view, even since teh days of Golden Eye. Been meaning to play Deus Ex, I thought it was a stealth game moar than a shooter though..

The beauty of the 'Deus Ex' series is that they're whatever you want them to be. There are always multiple ways of accomplishing any given goal, so if you'd rather be stealthy than just running in with guns blazing, you can. It's completely up to you.

I played through most of them 3 times : One going the shooting route, one going the stealth route, and one doing a combination of both.

The definition of an FPS is too nebulous. Almost all US-made games are FPS now, even the RPGs. Counterstrike is way too low.
