Haven't heard anything at all. . . I know it's usually at least two years before they put out a new game, but it's coming up on that time. . .
They have the chance to really make something epic with the next release. . .
I hope they concentrate more on the simulation aspect, rather than career mode, arcade style play, etc. . . I like to simulate REAL match-ups. . . So for me one of the best features is the ability to create boxers (that they can't get licensed), and to share them online. . .
The first GLARING problem is the way the judges score fights. . . They don't take things like work rate and aggression into account. . . Or hurting a fighter. . . It's just way off. . .
A few minor things in regards to boxer customization/creation: Give us more tattoos/better tat placement. . . Deeper selection for trunks, shoes, etc. . CLETO REYES GLOVES. . . More hairstyles. . . Give the announcers the ability to "read" first and last names. . . Let us add their record. . .
For in-game fighting:
MORE WEIGHT CLASSES! And deeper selection of "current' fighters.
There needs to be a different setting for foot speed and hand speed. Also for left and right hand power.
Make the "strength' attribute be different for "blocking" and "punching". . So guys like Andre Ward andTim Bradley who don't have a lot of punching power, but have a very strong guard, and are just physically strong in general will be accurately reflected. .
There should be a "balance/agility" attribute - which would allow some fighters to fight off the back foot and on the move more effectively. EX: guys like Mayweather, Ali, Holmes, Donaire would be able to throw punches while sidestepping, and backpeddling. . . Then guys like Hatton, Rios wouldn't be able to fight as effectively on the move. . . Generally, it would have a positive correlation with ability to counter punch.
Make the joystick FULL RANGE PUNCHING MOTION, EX: If you flick the joystick at a 25/65 degree angle, make the punch accurately reflect that angle - not just either a "straight/jab", "hook" or an "uppercut". . .
MORE SIGNATURE PUNCHES/STYLES/MOVES! More of a noticeable difference between styles. . .
In-fighting - make guys who infight be able to clinch up easier, and hit and hold. . . right now there is no transition - you either clinch up, or you're standing in front of each other. . Take off the power of the punch from certain ranges. . Right now a hook on the inside, or outside, is just as powerful from mid-range.
Defense - make there be button you can tap to make the boxers head "flick" either down, or to the left and right to slip jabs. . . GO BACK to the "up and down" guard to block punches rather than just pushing the block button and it automatically blocking. . . Make the "body movement" feature smoother in general.
FInally - JUST LISTEN to the fans! On the EA forum there are all kinds of great suggestions from the fans. . .
