Just got offered a decent deal on a PS3

....my friend offered me the old and big 80gb PS3 with like 3 games and 2 controllers for £100.

My question is do the old PS3's crumble and fall apart like the old Xbox's or are they more reliable? Would this be a wise investment?

I have an 80 GB PS3...the old one thats backwards compatible and has the memory card slot...I have never had any problems with it. I'd go for it.
