I haven't played a god of war game, should I try this one out - or would it be better to try an earlier version of the series.

This is supposed to be the earliest in the timeline for the series, so probably not a bad place to start story wise. Of course I'd recommend you play any of the others though, they are all great games, even the handheld ones for PSP.

Last gow I played was gow2 loved them both but I converted from ps2 to xbox and haven't had the chance to play the new ones
