Ps3 is built weird

Hdmi and Component, if you're a person who switches back every so often to set it up on a different tv you have to hold down the reset button each time on the console. It's really annoying, and I constantly forget thats what I have to do because it just seems so weird. Why doesn't it just work when I use a different cord without resetting the video settings in the console?

They seriously had to make the console this way? Does the 360 work the same way? No one would think to reset the console settings unless they googled and found out the problem with their system. Most people probably still won't understand how you're suppose to reset your console manually. It's really weird and annoying that they made the console this way.

You don't have to reset. If you're using HDMI and want to use Component just plug in the Component cables into the TV and switch the video setting. Then turn off the console, remove the cables, plug them into the Component TV and it should work.

I have an older model ps3, so I don't know... Might be different from Australian Ps3's because I think American consoles are built different for our tv specs.

Haha...same thing happened to me. In my case, both TV are hdmi connected but I still needed to hold on the power button for a few seconds. I forgot about this and was puzzled why it wouldn't work. I finally remembered after a couple of months...tried it and it works. It's possible to forget this again if I change TV in a couple of years.

I handle the problem while switching power on both the devices at same time.
