    upgrade ps3 hdd.

    anyone done this? i did mine today, went from 80 gb to 250 gb...simple swap. Only 5 screws.

      yeah but be careful about ur HHD RPM. 7200 will burn ur PS3. You should in lower range.

        False bro. There is no reason why a higher RPM would burn a PS3. Upgrading your PS3 HD is great and is even SUPPORTED by Playstation. They have instructions on how to do it in your user manuals and it does NOT void your warranty.

        The only caveat I put on upgrading your HD is to make sure you have the right screw drivers for the job. The HD tray's screws are easily stripped if you use an ill fitting screw driver.

          Yes, UPGRADING is great and is supported by PS3 and no, the 7200rpm will generate more heat, so PS3 temperature will rise. Plus, the difference in speed is barely noticeable, maybe the 7200rpm will save few seconds, but its is not worth the risk. So, I'd suggest using the recommended 5400rpm HDD of 500GB of Western Digital or Seagate.
