The first resident evil ofcourse is a classic, but to this day Resident Evil 2 still surpasses them all. Followed by probably RE4 or RE3, with RE5 being the weakest. I'm sorry but the whole survivor horror **** went out the window, i mean the last boss setting is near Lava? seriously? Props to those who played the original RE's prior to RE4, where you needed a ink ribbon just to save, and there were NO continues, and no BS 2player. And just so you all don't think i'm sitting here hating RE5, i've beat professional WITHOUT INF. ammo. It's a decent action game.

Resident Evil 2 is still the best in my opinion.

Resident Evil 2 is the best by far. IMO it's not even close. That game scared the **** out of me when I was younger. When the arms burst through the wood near the beginning (in the corridor) That made me jump lol

Honestly? Proberbly Resident Evil 4, it maintained the "scary" atmosphere unlike Resi 5 but made the controls and amount of skill involved much better.

I did like Resi 5 for the Co-Op though, and Resi 3 was proberbly the scariest for me running from Nemisis always had me close to tears :P

RE2 scared the **** out of me.

Code Veronica scared me too but it was funner to play.

RE4 and 5 aren't really scary so much. Just more action oriented. I like those press "A" sequences and such, like dynamite cop on arcade.

Tied between 2 and 4 for me, i like the set-up of 2, it fealt more like a zombie survival horror game, but the controls on 4 made the game alot more fun for me.
