Has anybody here tried it? If so is it worth it and what are the risks? I already took it apart successfully just reading up on how to flash my drive now ... Anybody?

I got my 360 off the mrs for christmas a couple of years ago and flashed it the same day. You need to establish what DVD drive you have in your 360 before you flash it as some cannot be flashed or need some soldering work to be done. Another thing to consider is whether you are going to play online, if you are make sure you flash the Ixtreme firmware as you will more than likely get banned with the old firmware.
Plenty of tutorials and information here

I have the Hitachi-LG drive, To be honest i don't play online that much, How long did it take you and did you need to buy any parts?

The actual flashing takes less than 2 minutes to do. I used a program called Firmware Toolbox to do it, just make sure you have got a compatible Sata motherboard chipset before you start. I also had to burn a program called Slax onto a disc to play in my 360 before I flashed it to get it into mode b as I think you can only flash in mode b. I didn't need to buy anything at all.Last edited by tntkid; 06-10-2008, 07:08 PM.
