What TV do you play on?

Whats the specs on your TV??

Ya know stuff like, brand, size, HDTV (720p/i 1080p/i)

I'm asking this because I'm currently looking into tv's to buy when I get my 360 because from what I understand, a 360 isn't nearly worth the money unless you got atleast a 720p tv...

      I play in a 52' Panasonic that has 720p and 1080i.
If you have the money, you should just go with 1080p.

1080p is for fools who believe in the hype of marketing.

        Anyway, mine

        Samsung PS42P4A
        42”
        1080i
        Bought it in April 2005

I was looking of buying like a 20' HDTV that supports at least 720p (because thats more or less the most 360 can broadcast, it can broadcast at 1080p but from what I understand its not that big a difference)....

I'd get a bigger one but I'm not rolling around in extra money...

currently my 360 is on my old panasonic 32ps1 - a humdinger of a CRT television but a few years old now.

I'm investing in a new one in a few months - after hours of research I'm still not certain what to do - leading candidate so far is the new Panasonic 37px70. It's not 1080p but its very good value and the picture for films kicks the ass of any LCD I've seen.

But.....I don't know whether performance will be good on the 360 or via pc-link. Any advice fellas

                ok, here it is

I wanted this one but its a couple of hundred pounds more, and 6 months older.

Cheers for any hints, I've read the reviews etc but they're so varied, and i really don't want to buy plasma/lcd and then find out I've made a mistake!

I’ve tested the PX600 at a local electronic store when I was looking for a new TV back in January and p4p, best TV me and my flat made have ever used (watch it handle motion sequences).

Can’t comment on the PX70 but I have played both 360 and PS3 off the PX60 and that is another fantastic quality TV, but did suffer with sound which would be noticed in a large room.

I was about to say they both look the same to me but I noticed something...

The TH-37PX70PED supports 1080p while the TH37PX600PED only has 1080i....

Now this all sounds like gibberish if you don't know the difference between 720p, 1080i, and 1080p..

So here's something I got off the bestbuy website-

What's the difference between 720p and 1080i HD broadcasts?
The short answer is that they both look great, and most people have a hard time telling the difference. Here's the medium-size answer: the numbers 720 and 1080 refer to horizontal pixel counts, while the letters p and i refer to the picture-scanning method--either progressive or interlaced. Proponents of 1080i HD will tell you that they offer the most lines of resolution, which is true. However, 1080i images are interlaced, meaning that a tube TV draws the picture in two passes: once for the odd-numbered lines, and again for the even-numbered lines. For 720p, or progressive, broadcasts, tube TVs draw each frame in a single pass, making for a smoother picture (nontube televisions display everything as progressive scan). While most viewers probably won't be able to tell the difference, videophiles tend to prefer the smoother images of 720p. Even higher-bandwidth 1080p broadcasts could offer the best of both worlds, but they're not going to be available anytime soon.
The highlighted is basically the part that you'll want to read...Plainly put 1080p is a sharper picture then 1080i....However if your playing a 360 (and PS3 as well I believe) it was programmed to natively play at 720p, it can play at 1080i but the picture looks nicer at 720p....

Basically put, the 1080p TV is probably the better of the two however, if your using it for gaming they both broadcast 720p so its not going to make to much of a difference...
