what is the BEST way to go up in wt?

I'm a light welter right now at 135 but I'm trying to be an actual welter at 141+

I picked up on weights and taking a lot of protein but I'm worried I'll lose my agility by trying to build up that why, anyone got a better idea??

bro take it easy, i think you've been reading too much on this forum. Alot of guys here exagerate the negative effects of going up in weight and they fail to mention the positives.

I know many boxers who have increased 20-30 pounds over 1-3yr period by lifting weights and boxing at same time and they have same or even faster hand speed and alot more punch power(i sparred them afterwards and i felt it, trust me). but they gained it gradually and trained while lifting. So YES IT IS POSSIBLE to maintain or even GAIN SPEED after gaining weight.

DAMN THERE IS SOME ****TY ADVICE IN THESE THREADS. I HOPE NOBODY TAKES THIS CRAP SERIOUSLY. A FEW POUNDS TO MOVE UP IN YOUR WEIGHT DIVISION IF ANYTHING WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA. DON'T ISOLATE BODY PARTS. ie. curls isolate bicepts. DO COMPOUND MOVEMENTS. SQUATS, DEADLIFTS, POWER CLEANS. CLEAN & PRESS, MILITARY PRESS ARE ALL EXCELLENT FOR BOXERS. MIX IT UP TO ie. I do dumbell clean & press and while holding the dumbell up do overhead lunges. THERE IS SOME GOOD ADVICE ON WEIGHT LIFTING ON SOME OF THESE THREADS. ESPECIALLY COMING FROM PUNCH DRUNK AND BIG DOZER. THERE IS ONE ON WEIGHTLIFTING STARTED BY AN OLD TIME TRAINING ENTHUSIAST WHO A COUPLE OF GUYS HAD TO SCHOOL AND THE SUBJECT. ONE ON BOXING SPECIFIC TRAINING, ONE CALLED MORALES TRAINES WITH WEIGHTS. A LOT OF GOOD ADVICE. CHECK IT OUT. I ENCOURAGE THE USE OF WEIGHTS FOR STRENGTH TRAINING YOU DON'T HAVE TO GAIN MASS AND WEIGHT TO GAIN STRENGTH

i think this is where kingdosia was goin with his post but i didnt feel like reading a huge thing like that full of caps.

moving up 6-10pounds so you can be a welterweight isnt going to make you slower.
