    Making weight before a fight...

    hey all,
I was wondering what you do or if you know what the pro's do to make weight before a fight? I am asking because I am finding out that welterweights like Arturo Gatti and Carlos Baldomir walk and train at around 168 lbs (Gatti) and 180 lbs (Baldomir) before cutting down to 147lbs on weigh in day. I am wondering if I should put on more weight since I am interested in fighting at 156 for my college and currently am stable at around 151.6 lbs. Any advice would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

They cut waterweight rather quickly but they also put it back on after the weigh in.

They take a pee, they go into a steam room and shadowbox for a while to sweat out the weight. They dehydrate their bodies before a weight in but the weight comes back once they start drinking again.

The most beneficial thing to do is not bloat up, and do what Mayweather does... stay at that weight pretty much constantly...

          Yeah thats better.

Hatton looks like a heavyweight when he ain't fighting.
