Getting training information from a Heavy Bag

As part of an engineering project I am looking at ways of improving that data that you get out of boxing training. Many other sports already use lots of data to help people train such as GPS watches etc.

The particular area I'm looking at is the heavy punch bag. But before deciding how to get data out of a heavy bag, more importantly what would you WANT to know when you're using the heavy bag?
This might be punches per second, total number of punches in a workout? How hard you punch? An average force for all of your punches (particularly when you're getting tired) and not just your hardest ones? The speed of your punches (how long it took your fist to go from the guard position to the moment of contact with the bag)? How about your reach (how far your fist actually moved from guard position to contact)?
    Anything else?

Thanks very much and I'd be grateful to hear any thoughts that anybody has.

It would seem like punch force without punch speed would not be that helpful. Knowing how much of the force was compromised of velocity is a critical element.

        Punch force, for sure.

Thanks very much for your answers so far. A few pieces of tech already seem to exist for some of these metrics, such as Hykso Punch Trackers and some other variants. If anyone has used these and wishes that they acted differently, or perhaps they aren't very accurate or anything else, then it'd be great to know.

I'm not sure how accurate those gadgets are.

A time reading between punches, in combinations, with a power reading for each shot would be great. Unless some Chinese company makes it. At which point I would piss on it.........Rockin'
