Who owns a body protector? Need advice

The guy that owned the gym's only body protector left for college so I was thinking about shopping around for one. I'm seeing stuff on Amazon ranging from 60-100 bucks but when I go to Title and Rival their body protectors jump to the 200-400 dollar range. For anyone who owns a body protector what brand do you have and how well does it work? My gym regulars are mainly on the smaller side.

I've never used one but thought about it a few times....mostly when recovering from rib injuries. Whats everyone's take on using one?

I personally never liked how they felt. Other people swear by them.
