Running - How many km and what time

Lately I started to go for runs again and started to feel more comfortable with the stamina.

Post your records and how much KM you run and how many times you go for runs per week.

Yesterday's run: 4.5 km in 27 mins easy pace (plus very hot outside at the moment around 4pm)

Target is to go down to 22 mins in 5 km again

Suggestions, tips and sharing ideas is welcome as well

When it comes to running competence, much depends on your weight.

A good 5k time for a heavyweight would be awful for a featherweight for example.

That is for sure. Would like to find some information about the runs of old timers (boxers), how much they used to run and in how much time.

Most of them had very good stamina since they used to fight 15 rounds

I seem to remember from reading Tommy Hearn's biography 'Hitman' that he ran a quick 5k often in training.

Most boxers are a little secretive with their running time trials though....

im at about 840 a mile over 4 miles.

Sometimes 910 if its hot--running does amzzing things for your mind--makes me more patient

Heat for sure makes an impact on the running.

This week I went down to 5 minutes flat per KM, but started to fade later on to 7 minutes per KM.

Both my 13 & 14yo's are sub 18 3mile runners. Key to their speed for 3miles is running steady 6miles.

Id say run distance at least 3 days a week. Sprints, leg weights, &/or swim on other days.

I used to run track and cross country in high school. My 1600m PB was 4:46, my 3200m PB was 10:19 and I hit a few 5K's in the 17:30 range. I used to train about 30 miles a week

Very good timings. Will start to add more distance as well into my runs, for better endurance.
