Hi I am new to boxing, started before covid happened and all gyms shut down. I’m new to this forum as well, found it to seek advice.I’ve been training for when they open back up. I’ve gotten everything down on my stance (width, guard, chin tucked, etc.) I just have one simple question: what should the angle of my rear and lead foot be? Should my lead foot be pointed straight at my target or pointed out at 45 degrees?? What about my rear foot? Thanks

Good question...the angle of your feet may differ depending on many variables including, style and range. An angled body stance (lead foot forward, rear foot/rear hand back) at long range would require angled feet. If you are in close to the opponent, you may be more squared up and the feet pointed more straight. When defending or cutting an angle, this would require proper foot angle adjustments. Its really not going to be the same under all circumstances. Maybe develop your long range stance first and work on others as you progress. Ideally you want to be balanced enough to defend and punch at all times and never off balance. Watch pro fights and what they are doing. try to incorporate this into your foot work.
