Muscle pain in my middle back

It's right in the middle and to the left, right below my lats. It happened last week and I put some IcyHot and took Celebrex for a week and it was fine but now it's starting again. It hurts when I bend down or bend to my right. What should I do?

You've probably strained an interior dorsal muscle. Easy to do when throwing hard, short punches. Best thing to do is to lay off the short-explosive exercises (like punching) for a couple of days. Do some running and light stretching. Aleve is good for that kind of thing, and when you do start punching again, start your movements slow. The explode/stop nature of punching can play merry hell on muscles that are strained.

yall need to do some lowerback workouts....where you lock your legs and raise and lower your whole upper body...

it also doesn't help if you have a gut...the weight pulls forward and adds strain to your lumbar region..my suggestion may take some discipline..

earn thr right to punch the bag
run..run..run till the fat comes off
        shadow box to maintain speed
strengthen your abs and lower back muscles
now you can hit the bag and gain strenght with freeweights
lift weights then punch the hell out the bag

Ok, it's nothing what you guys said. I came from the doctor and I found out it was a muscle virus. So I'm taking Bengay, Motrin, and some heating pads for a few weeks. Hopefully, I can get back into the gym in a week. It's too painful right now. It took me about 20 minutes just to get out of bed.

Don't laugh, but I know why you have this back pain. It's because you are spending too much time on the computer. I'm dead serious too. My brother had this a little while back b/c he would spend hours on end on this damn thing and the chair ****** and he had bad posture.

Lol, that's what I was thinking too at first. That's definately part of the problem though. Well, my sister went out to buy me my medicine and hopefully it get's good enough for me to atleast go back to training.

Stand up and bend to your left : ) Seriously, keep working out. It will probably work itself out.

I agree with this guy. A virus will leave if you're training or not. Unless it is the HIV or a computer virus.
