Okay so in regards to my last post, turns out my rope was too small. I sized myself, and got the appropriate size. This has made skipping much easier to learn new techniques. Now my question, when I look on CrossFit YouTube on how to do side swings, it’s almost common that when you are performing side swings, you should put your dominant hand over your weaker when performed. I myself have discovered that I am better off and more efficient when I don’t put my dominant hand, but leave them in a normal position as if I were skipping, but only on my side. Is this a bad habit that should be corrected? Does it matter if I don’t put my dominant hand over my weak hand when performing the side swing?

Let me give you advice from an absolute expert jump roper...
Just jump... Don't look online for techniques or get opinions, just jump. Now if you're jumping by yourself, that's a different story. You have to be jumping around a bunch of guys who know what they're doing. That's how you pick up all the little tricks. I can do these little subtle things that might look amazing, but really they're just from doing it so much.
I think I keep mine in a normal position, if I understand what you're saying.

Notice how when she goes to one side, her hands are almost in a neutral position rather than having right on top of left, or left on top of right. Example of thisLast edited by Beasting102; 03-08-2020, 02:19 PM.
