I am new to jump roping, started around 2-3 weeks ago. I’m getting the basic bounce down, but when I start doing cross overs, alternating step and that other stuff I get tko’d by my rope. I’ve looked on YouTube and used their techniques, but still can’t quite get it. Any tips for this?

Keep at it it may seem simple but improvement will be very slow and steady, theres no secret other than keep trying.

For crossovers, focus on what your hands are doing, your feet should just carry on as if doing a regular bounce, the only thing that changes is the hands. Maybe try doing regular bounce 1, 2, 3, then do a crossover on the 4th bounce, and stop, then go again. Keep doing this until you feel confident of what your hands are doing, and start to join it up: 1,2,3, cross, 1,2,3, cross, etc
Also I think it is good at this early stage to get crossovers going for both right over left, and left over right, a lot of people can only do it one way, but skipping is not only for cardio it is also q. good for hands and feet coordination

I agree with everything said so far. Do you have the basic boxers skip down yet or are you still doing the basic jump with both feet hitting at the same time? I say learn the boxers skip first and be able to use variations of this before moving to more complicated tricks. Check out the jump rope dudes on youtube. They seem to be the best out there for instruction. Get the basic skips down first

Where did you get that?
They ripped I need a new pair.
I heard they make them with a velcro tie now.
Yeah they started making them in different colors too.
That’s the one I want. It’s too long.
I forgot my mouth piece can I use yours.
Here, give it back when your done. I washed
it. I'm all done. Thanks I have to go in next
round.
It split in half. I need a new one. How much is that?
Which one do you recommend? That's the one I want
it's to short.
