    Neck Pain

I had some neck pain from sparring when turning my neck to the left in my upper back on the left side, I went to a chiropractor and he adjusted it and now I have pain turning my head to the right in the upper back on the right side and my left is fine. Chiropractors make me a bit nervous the way the snap your head around. I can still box with the pain, Any suggestions?

    Not a pinched nerve?

It a spasm in your t****zium. Don't screw around with neck adjustments...they're linked to stroke and disk herniation. Find a trigger point release massage therapist.

What were you doing to strengthen your neck before this injury showed up? ........Rockin'

I was doing shrugs and yes/no exercises.

I got 2 trigger point release massages and although they helped, the pain would come back.

This exactly what would cause it...shrugs.

When a bad spasm releases you literally feel a firing in the area and quite a bit of pain before...and you know it's gone. Not everyone who does them is good at it. If it helped I'd find someone else to try and explain that the person you went to before did not release the spasm and that you need someone to aggressively release it. Try a sports medicine clinic.

Training in pain is not a good idea. I think visiting a licensed therapist for deep tissue massage helps. My friend also suffered from the same pain, but he continued his training, which results in delayed onset muscle soreness.

I have located another therapist recommended by my trainer as the one I used originally from my chiropractic office did seem to help but not get rid of the pain. This one is a sports medicine specialist and I talked to her on the phone and she really sounded like she knew what she is doing. The initial assessment and massage is going to cost $150, but if it works it is well worth it.
