LF double end bag work critique

Hey y'all, just wondering if anyone had any critiques, tips, or thoughts about this double end bag round i recorded earlier today.

I couldn't move around it too much as it had just rained and was really wet, except in the couple spots i was standing.
Would love any comments or advice! Even if it's lose weight fatty

    Thanks in advance.

edit: looks like i can't post links, so put "watch?v=xxcH0fRvGs4&feature=********" after youtube.com/ to get to it. Sorry lol

Better than nothing, but improve your technique first, before working on advanced things like that. You're already developing bad habit here at this bag - you're holding off your punches in the end as you're scared to hit it hard. While you should do opposite when boxing, you should throw fast and hard, harder in the end of the punch, with an intention.

Looks good and understood its not really a bag that you use to practice power shots, although you could hit it harder and get it swinging more to make things more interesting and more difficult to locate the bag for the next punch. You can definitely hit that thing harder and more snap to your punches. Maybe mix it up more with some lead rights and double up on the right as well or lead hook then combo after. There are really no set rules and your form looks decent. Sometimes I bounce the weight back and forth between each foot and try to hit the bag with every bounce while moving slightly around the bag...if that makes sense. Also combos with several left and rights in a row punctuated with a hook or uppercut at the end

Yea i know exactly what you mean with the bouncing. I do that as well sometimes.

But yea i definitely was trying to not hit much power, prolly a bad habit. But i was trying to focus on head movement this day on the double end. Usually go to the heavy bag or tires when i want to do power work, but working accuracy with a double end bag moving a lot's a good idea too.

You can see me reset a couple times when i didn't like a slip to the left.. have a bad habit of letting my head get out past my knee that i'm trying to fix lol.

I need to get myself a slip back and set it up for that too.

You happen to have any other head movement drills that you like to do?

Give your friend some gloves, put yours on and say let's do it. Then when he tries to punch you in your face: move your head.

Imagine a guy is throwing a 1-2-hook at you. With your body: slip/slip/get under. You have to do these motions precisely and with speed. Always slipping to the outside. Then you dig your own...………………?Rockin'

What Rockin said. The best way is to do some light sparring and practice the head movement whilst actual punches are being thrown. That said, its really different a game depending a lot the person you're boxing with. A guy that's taller than me with long arms, I'm likely to use more head movement to get inside and stay off the end of his shots. A shorter guy, I might be more inclined to fight tall and keep him on the end of my shots, more using distance than head movement. IN general, be ready to move automatically after each punch or combination. Like, have it ingrained so it just happens. Offense and defense at the same time. On the double end bag, its coming straight back at you after you hit it. you need to move your head slightly to get out of the way. This is something that will help you get into the habit

It takes some guts to start putting on gloves, and I think it also takes guts to post videos for critique - so well done! Definitely nice accuracy in the punches, good eye for landing. Like everyone has said above, fluidity in movement is important. You're having to stop and completely reset against a stationary bag, and to paraphrase Bruce Lee, bags don't hit back.

Less movement in the beginning, just focus on snappy punches and bringing them back to your head, then add in the movement.
