It is much better to fight relaxed becauase you can think more, and when you get into bigger fights with better people you are going to need to be able to think.

I thought that part of learning to box was learning to stay relaxed and focused when someone's trying to beat the crap out of you. For me, the mental conditioning has been harder -- and more beneficial -- than the physical conditioning. In fact, when I get into confrontations now with people who would normally make me upset, my pulse doesn't even change. Some great things have been happening in my life because of this, but I digress.
I think if I was sparring and felt myself starting to lose my temper, I'd take a break. If I need to work out a general piss-off, I'll hit the heavy bag. I wouldn't take it out on somebody. That's just me, though. I'm a boxer, not a fighter.

i agree... you will definately gas out quick.. too much adrenaline..
if u have the ability to knock your opponent out in a few rounds do it.. if you dont have that KO power.. save your energy

foreman used to fight in a rage which worked beautifully till he fought a boxer who loved his opponent to be angry!Last edited by hemichromis; 08-06-2006, 06:10 AM.
