I am 17 going on 18 175lbs 5'8 aiming for 152 welterweight for USA boxing. I have been interested in boxing for 4 years got serious within 2 years. What are the steps and recommended things i should be doing to prepare for this? I have suffered many injuries in training and learning on the way. Back, shoulder, wrist name it all. They are on the verge of healing fine. I am ready for a commitment.

When you get to Austin, scope out the local gyms, and ask around for amateur teams. Get the lay of the land before you commit to any one place (or person). Feel things out and look for a coach who can guide you and help you grow as a fighter.
While you're doing that, keep up on your fitness - road work, exercise, etc. Consider that first impression you make when you walk into a gym - not only on the coaches, but on the other fighters. Walk in ready to get to work and you'll be walking in with a lot more respect .

Crazy amount of amateur boxing in Texas, for most of the year you could probably fight every weekend.
