hey i'm fighting against a brawler on friday... i have a quick and stiff jab.. and a powerful right. i'd rather keep to straight punches and uppercuts since my hooks seem very slow to me...should i keep my distance...? or get in there and fight? although i am faster... he still has a strong right hand... i've seen him fight and he seems to leave his left hand up high to block..-very very very weak... just uses it to block... i was thinking to capatalize on when he jabs.. to parry it and give him my own right... i was thinking that he is very slow so i would use the...1,2 1,2 1,2 since he wouldnt be able to catch me.. should i keep away? or get in there and fight?

Dont throw any hooks unless you can fire them off inside and short, throwing hooks will invite himside and work your body and let him able to push you back...Dont try it you will leave yourself open and vulnerable especially if you know you arent comfortable with them.
Keep your jab stiff and straight and keep the distance by snapping it against his head and go inside with the uppercuts to the body....
Circle him and move around his most common punch and throw that jab when you do and then go for the uppercuts.
The worst thing you can do when fighting a brawler is take a step back, you need to move around him.

i should circle towards his left hand.. (going towards my right) i am orthodox...ill keep to straight punches since i dont want to brawl with him. he is bigger than me.. i plan to jab... then cross .. jab to the body dropping his left hand and give him a straight cross to the head. and when he comes in.. swinging wildly, i could jab and uppercut. against a brawler.. would body shots take effect? or should i jab towards the head keeping my distance and circle toward my right away from his right hand.. thanks again for the advice guys... oh yeah.. what should i be doing these days before my fight? its tuesday and i'm fighting on friday... could you guys tell me what i should be doing each day.. resting.. cardio.. or shadowboxing? thanks!

Circle toward HIS left to avoid the right. If for some reason he might be working on his left, keep your right by your head to catch a jab and if it is to slow as he brings it back, slip it and meet him with your own right. If he has you against the ropes at anytime, shoe-shine him to the head and body. Hope this helps.

we are the the same height.... thanks guys.. my gameplan should be use my jab.. and cross. keep my right hand up... and when he gets too close dont go straight back go in a circle.. preferbly towards his left.. my right.. when he gets too close.. clinch... jab jab uppercut.. the best weapon for me is to use my jab... do you think body punches will even take effect? i just wanna know cause i dont want to waste my time thanks!
