    Thoughts on Rest Days

Just wondering what your thoughts are on "rest days"? Do you take rest days?

I've heard from some that they're necessary, I've heard from others that's a myth, and I've heard it depends on what types of workouts you're doing.

Personally - I take Sundays off, not always because I'm in severe pain or any particular injury, but because of the burnt out feeling.

Up to you and whether you can take it

And on the seventh day He rested. Do what your body tells you. Go for a walk, do some stretching. You don't need to train hard every day.

The body needs recovery time. You don't get stronger in the gym, you do it during rest. People who don't respect recovery time end up getting injuries, or they get burnt out and sick of feeling like shyt.
I HIGHLY recommend using rest days to do a lot of stretching or yoga, whatever you prefer. Even if you hate stretching and get bored (I hate it more than anyone) it's really beneficial to recovery and to keeping flexible.

I stopped doing yoga for about 3 weeks... I didn't have enough time or free days anymore to do yoga, but maybe I should square out a day once a week for it again. I did feel like yoga actually did help, even a little bit.

I never found yoga boring, if anything, I was more intimidated by it lol. After a week of working your muscles out hard, stretching them isn't as much of a breeze as people think, especially when you're doing hot yoga or power yoga.

See, once you get into the fighting scene, everyone is an expert. Once you start hitting the gym, everyone is an expert. So all these "experts" keep telling me different things to where I get confused lol. Some are like, "You need to rest your muscles", and other tell me you can workout every day, and taking rest days are just an excuse to be lazy... And honestly, what fighter wants to be described as "lazy", ya know?

That's what I'm sort of thinking... Some weeks I can go 7 days and not burn out, others I'm exhausted by Thursday lol.

No it is not. You train hard to break the muscles down. You rest so that the muscles can not only recover but grow stronger. Have these people studied the human body at all? ……?Rockin'

This^. It's not up to you. People seem to think it's like in the movies where the mind is all that needs to be overcome. These people learn the hard way.

I oddly enough expected you to say the opposite... Like, everyone should be running/boxing 7 days a week lol.

Ok, consensus is at least one rest day a week is a good solid routine. Got it!
