average size of heavy weight and light heavy weight

It's my understanding that light heavy weight is 178 and heavy is 201, I was wondering if 5ft 10 would be under sized for these divisions. I also was wondering for most peoples first couple of novice fights do they usually cut that much or will people go for it at whatever weight they are walking around at.

Yeah, not too many 5'10 guys at 175 or 201lbs.

I mean, if you're bad enough, you can swing it.

Mike Tyson was only 5'11" and made 6'5" dudes cry.

Most of the dudes I see who are 5'10 are around 154-160 like Gennady Golovkin & Canelo Alvarez.

I think even most elite 168 guys are taller than 5'10, but like i said, if you're built like Tyson or Gervontaa Davis, you can make up for being short.

I think 6'1 and up for light heavyweight is needed. And in the current heavyweight landscape 6'3 and up is needed

I was always a taller guy for my weight class and it is a great advantage. But a good short guy who is good at being short can make it an advantage. Almost constant head movement when you are on the outside just give him a quick shot or feint something to think about while you close the distance. Open up on him when you are close and duck your head on the way out. I remember a few short guys who knew how fight would just give me nightmares in the ring.

I remember Mosley had a lot of trouble with Brown because of that.

I forget to specify this would be in the novice class, I don't know if guys cut less during their first few fights typically or not

Canelo wouldn't reach 5'10" tip-toeing in platform boots. He's listed at 5'9" but is more like 5'7", which is why he looks as bulky as he does for his weight class.
