    Ayrossi's evolution and training log

    Hello,

As I said in another post I just started boxing two weeks ago after having practiced karate.

In this post I will post updated, log my trainings and post some videos.

    Critics are more then welcome!

This is my first video of me shadow boxing.

EDIT: Remove the unneccessary spaces, I had to add them because can't post urls before 15 posts

I think my breathing is okay, my stance need some work and I have to concentrate on snapping that punch more sometimes.

Anyway this is just the start of a long long journey!

That wasn't too bad man. You kept your hands up, even when throwing, were breathing out, main thing I'd say is that it was only 30 seconds long and you were sometimes leaving your 2 hanging out there a bit long.

I wouldn't worry about too much snap when shadowboxing, don't want to overextend or hurt your elbow, you can work on retracting your punches a bit faster. Its not as much of an issue when you followed it up with a 3, but when just doing the 1,2 you were leaving it out there hanging a bit too long before retracting it after the punch.

I also would practice moving a bit more horizontally, I know you're working in a small space but take some steps off to the side either direction from time.

    Keep up the good work.

While I haven't watched your video, to add to what TC said, my coach will usually make a rhythm of claps, that'll help with the understanding of pauses and speed, whether you're looking to do consecutive 1,2,1,2, or 1,2 - 3,4, if that makes any sense.

He also makes me use small weights (1-3lbs depending on my body that day) while shadow boxing to help with explosiveness and speed - if you happen to have any metal bars of just 1-2lbs, that may help you slow down during shadow boxing, but release faster speed when punching without the weights kind of thing.
