Bro, I will take any resources for helping my shoulders , as I have gotten older I need to stay on top of it because I have had very difficult moments when I'm hurting,,, thank you for the link, it was very good information
Same here and you're welcome. whatd bert sugar say, old age and guile always whoop youth and strength
Thanks for the replies guys , I think I just need to lay off the intensity and look at stretching more as I've always been a **** for ignoring that .
When your older you tend to train like you comb your hair, you comb it like its 25 but in reality it looks every bit of 45 .
I know that pushing your punches on the bag can cause unwanted muscle pain. Also timing your power punches will allow you to moderate when you unload versus using too much power.
Is it like after 3 rounds with the bag? Not an immediate shoulder pain? Happened to me and the doctor said its the rotator cuff. I realized I was not warming it up that much before I shadow or box. Do arm rotations, the best for me is the pendulum swing but I use a really light dumbell. It worked really well
During some sparring, I was swinging wide with my left and felt pain immediately right after. What are good methods to either rest or exercise the pain away?
I just loved the dumps of serotonin and adrenaline in to my blood stream. Plus, if a guy nails you with a shot you get to bust him back one that's better than his was. The only respect that I encountered was earned……….Rockin'
ive had dull and sharp pain from the back of my neck towards my left shoulder which is essentially my jab. It happens occasionally on days that I train extra hard or do more jab /hook rounds. I take ibuprofen thru the night. Just wear and tear.
Use cold rub at night if it bothers for two days but thats rare.
Ice a few times a night for 20 minutes
I wouldn't run on the treadmill for now and stay off the bag
Exercise bike and swimming for cardio would be your best bet.
