    Injury Workouts?

Been boxing for over a year now, and somehow got a high ankle sprain in both ankles. (I don't have health insurance so self diagnosed) I have been unable to walk properly for the past 2 weeks, I've been skipping boxing for these weeks however working upperbody ONLY at my other gym.

My ankles are pretty much fine now throughout the day, mornings are the worst. Only feel a "painful" sensation when I'm bending my foot to walk and applying pressure. The pain seems to be coming above my ankle, in between/underneath the fibula bone.

I bought 2 walmart braces since day 1 and been wearing them anytime I go out. So here's my question... What boxing drills may I perform with my ankles still in recovery? I was debating to do only the speedbag and double end bag. However I figured you guys may have some drills that don't require footwork.

TL;DR: Both ankles are recovering from a injury. What are drills that don't require footwork?

Id say ab exercises where your laying down or possibly planks. there are a ton of variations. Upper body, push ups, chin ups, possibly weights...anything that doesn't aggravate this problem. Speed bag should be Ok when your stationary on your feet. Ultimately, you be the judge. Get your self a good stick roller and start working gentle on the areas that are tight. there are a lot of connecting tendons in that area which could be inflamed. Eat a diet of mainly anti inflammatory foods. Is it the bone or tendons and muscle?

I workout 7 days a week, have been for the past 2 years. Abs is done 3-4 times a week. Been lowering my volume/intensity on each muscle group so I don't overtrain quickly.

Regarding the injury, I believe it's the tendon/muscle before I would the bone. I can stand on my feet fine when I'm not bending my ankle. I can carry weight (Holding dumbbells) perfectly fine on my feet. I think if it was a bone I wouldn't be able to even stand without discomfort.

The ankles are avascular, without direct blood flow, so take your time and let them heal.
        Epsom salt soaks before bed.
Be hard to box since the power comes up.
Lay off the boxing gym for 2-4 weeks and maybe do some swimming young blood!

I almost never try to train through injuries. Always better to take time off.
