Why are boxers more muscular than kickboxers?

Main reasons boxers are more muscular compared to same weight class kick boxers are:
1) Having extra bodyfat is useful when your getting kicked in the body
2) Kickboxers typically cut less weight to compete then boxers. Muscle stores a lot of water so the muscular you are the more you can cut and have a weight advantage. A lot of these same weight class fighters are actually bigger in boxing then kick boxing
3) kick boxing has less rounds then boxing so less of their time is focused on conditioning and more is focused on technique
4) Have you noticed how being lanky and tall is a major advantage when boxing due to the range, well imagine the affect that has on kicking range.

Boxing has the potential to earn a fighter billions, kickboxers don't even earn millions. So a great kickboxer will likely move to boxing.
You'll also never find a kickboxer juiced to the gills like Joshua, Tyson. Holyfield etc were, because they'd stick out like a sore thumb, kickboxing is more of a martial arts and less of a sport than boxing
There's a lot of reasons but it's basically down to money
