Cognitive enhancement supplements: gimmick or for real?

I know Adderall is the real deal. I took that in college and could pound out 8-10 hour study sessions like a cakewalk.

But are these non-prescription cognitive enhancement supplements just gimmicks or can they help you focus and think through things better, too?

I first suggest intermittent fasting for mental clarity and cognitive enhancement. Also check out the wim hof method for some powerful mental and physical boost. Then also just diet. I recommend organic to keep the chemicals out of your system. I think caffeine can help too. These are ways to naturally boost brain power. I never take supplements as I like the natural approach

There aren’t really any non prescription nootropics that show any efficacy that warrants consumption. Both ginseng and ginkgo biloba which were touted to be the most reputable supplements for cognitive enhancements possess no scientific journal backings.

It’s important to keep in mind when researching anything, look for primary source literature, evaluate sample size, look for any test methods that may skew results and finally look for signs of agency. Best places to research are academic journals

Get a few rounds in. A little battering of the brain can take you anywhere in the universe. It's remembering these journeys that is the tough part.

Yeah for sure! I always had to smoke a bunch of pot that evening to have a chance of getting to sleep!

Ive used modafanil/modalert and it really does work, switches my brain on completely almost into overdrive, I dont tend to use it though as it gives me headaches the next day.

I may have to do some research on that stuff.
