    Anybody familiar with Phenibut?

Any supplement gurus wanna share their thoughts? I just ordered some and it arrived in the mail today.

From what I read, it's supposed to be a powerful stress reliever and mood enhancer, as well as promoting good sleep.

I've read that you need to be cautious not to take it more than 2 or 3 times per week, as tolerance builds up and withdrawal symptoms like anxiety, depression, and insomnia are possible.

I heard that the benefits from it are good though, as long as you watch yourself with how much you take.

Only thing I heard is that it works well for some, while not at all for others.

Exercise and **** to relieve stress. Don’t drink coffee past 4 pm, and get some sun. You’ll sleep good.

Phenibut hasn’t been tested extensively, hence not being approved for clinical use in the US. A cursory search online doesn’t show any academic journals that lend any credence to its claims as a nootropic. There are article on dependence however.

It’s a cns depressant by way of action on GABA receptors. So don’t compound use with any other benzodiazepines, barbitituates that you might have a prescription for, also alcohol.

Just be careful and have some monitor you. Also keep in mind there’s no governing body regulating what actually goes in those tablets.

            Good reason to stay away.

I was a workaholic who typically spent 60 to 70 hours per week at the office-- a classic overachiever.

In any event, for many years my sleep pattern was erratic; I never slept uninterruptedly for 6 or 7 hours.

Finally, I approached my doctor about this problem and he recommended increased amounts of Vitamin D, the multi-B vitamin complex and melatonin in controlled doses.

This worked for me until I reached age 65 and since then I get up at least once a night to urinate, so the longest period of sleep I have is about 3 hours. In case you don't know it, despite what they tell you about 65+ being your "golden years", old age sucks the bitter root!

I wake up at least 1-2 times a night, but go right back to sleep. I only sleep through the night when I got lucky a few hours prior.
