How to get boxing fit again?

Would like some advice on how to get back into boxing fit again..

I wasn't as fit as I was before when I used to box and after a 3-4 year hiatus I started to go back to my local gym - just to get back into shape, mainly for fitness with uncertainty on looking to fight again (well, maybe if I get back into shape).

But yeah, I remember when I used to be really fit and could throw a lot of combinations, now days I fatigue quite quickly.

During my long hiatus I was partying a lot, drinking, smoking and wasn't really dieting.

Any recommended tips would be highly appreciative.

It wont happen overnight and it gets harder as you get older, but if you slowly work back to your old routine, watch what you eat, you will get there sooner than you think.

You just need patience. A lot of people go back, dont get back to their old form quick enough and give up. It could be a month before you start to notice little differences or it could be sooner.

Just pretend Anorak is running in front of you and you want to give him a nice kick right in the ass. Works for me when I need to get motivated.
