    Workouts/Excercise To Reduce Anxiety?

    I have issues with anxiety and just relaxing. Always feel overstimulated, and I know it has to do with my history of drug abuse, which was marijuana, benzos and DXM.
    My diet is great, I am in great shape, 5'7, 145 lbs. I am fortunate to have these genetics where I get in shape very quickly and don't really gain weight (but I attribute that to my diet, also.) So is there anything else I can do, adding specific physical exertion/workouts/exercise? I know walking isn't enough anymore. It used to help but now my body needs to be put through more punishment and my muscles need to be aching for me to get any of that GABA and relaxation after a workout and shower.

      There's lots of stuff you could do, but I would recommend finding something you LIKE to do, that way you're more likely to stick with it. If you like boxing, follow a training routine, if you like weights, hit the weight room, running-run, etc.

      For me, there's no substitute for boxing training, it is a great way to release some stress and get your body to progress, but it's all up to you what you enjoy doing.

          Magnesium Bisglycinate

          Not only will it improve sleep, it will also improve GABA and muscular recovery after workouts! Magnesium is essential for detoxification aswell.

          (Doctor best magnesium bisglycinate seems to be the best brand).

            I think doing one hour or so sessions of running or decently intense biking helps with that sort of thing. Doing that a few times a week keeps me feeling pretty good.

                Any form of magnesium will do. I personally use epsom salts since they're cheapest. Make sure you get the one without any additives. Just have a tablespoon or two now and then and feel great. Don't take too much or you get diarrhoea.

                  purely for anxiety? im sure low intensity workouts for a moderate duration are recommended- e.g a 30 min light bike ride. Long gruelling exercise sessions wouldnt be advisable because of the cortisol and the stress response it would cause. But i would think that some heavy lifting would be good to boost testosterone levels afterwards which surely that would help with the anxiety. Again, just dont overdo it.
