    Sparring afraid of hurting opponent

I have been training for 10 months now and I feel like my technique in terms of punching has just not improved.

Does anyone have the fear of hurting their opponent if they use proper technique? When I punch my opponents I usually just have a relaxed arm without tension in it to make sure that I don't hurt my opponent, anyone else afraid that if they start to use proper technique, eventually one punch is gonna land hard and you are gonna hurt your opponent?

EDIT: Am I the only one who feels guilty that their technique in general, not just punching, sucks ass when they get tired?

You are only cheating yourself and your opponent/training partner in pulling your punches. The thing is with proper technique you don't need to absolutely smash every punch, th will be fast and can give your opponent a bit of a wake up sting if they are lazy in there slipping/movement

If you carry on this path, muscle Emory (habit) will take over, you will enter a local fight or nterclub and guess what? You start pulling your punches.

Also, you are cheating any opponent, giving them a sense of foolish belief that 'hey man, I can just take your punches in sparring, therefore I can walk through all punches' also if your punches have no snap and noechnique, that means they are slow and your training buddy gets used to facing a guy who is easy to see coming. Guess what happens when he gets in the ring at an interclub? Yep, he thinks, 'Jesus why can't I dodge these punches, why are they so fast.'

Now I'm not saying go and be all Ivan dragon about this, but you need to train with intensity, to prepare you mentally for a fight and get the real results you want

There are 3 parties to our gym,

      Beginners (Mine)
      Experienced
      Competitors(Amateur fighters)

I am unfortunate in the fact that I am 100kg ,this is ass because I am heavier than all my opponents. What I end up doing is mostly just use arm punches and very weak ones to not hurt my opponents. So it is hard for me to practice proper technique and have one of them go boom. that is my biggest fear

It's better to have to back off a little than to have to pick it up some more. Kinda like cutting hair. You can always take more off, you can't add more.

Go as hard as you can then if you are too much back off. Be the ass kicker not the guy getting his ass kicked because you think you would hurt the other guy if you went 100%.

You dont want to end up like Pacquiao. That's been his issue since he got very religious, he's afraid to hurt opponents and/or finish them off.

Its about tempo. I would start the session trying to hurt my partner, then back off, throw heat, turn it down, rinse/repeat. You need to drop heat to be in complete control.

Yes,this is what I do all the time!

I basically start aggressively throwing arm punches.
When I see the guy cover up and does not throw back I back off to let them brace themselves, or when they are in the corner or against the ropes and they can't run away.

I used to see this all the time back when i competed. Now this was a different world, street fighting, not pretend fighting in the gym. I had to be a killer with 100% intensity at all times. Im going to do something I normally dont do, so take heed to my advice here. Its one of the reasons I retired from pro street fighting. I would come home to my ninos, looking myself in the mirror after disfiguring some man who didnt even want these hands. Not everyone is cut out for the fight game kid. If youre not willing to bring the heat then you will get eaten alive. Seen it myself too many times and been on the giving end of many ass pounds to softer men. Ask yourself what kind of man you are and if you are ok with being a killer.

Arm punches? Do you also throw rabbit punches and b1tch slaps?

Hit hard, with correct technique, take the intensity down
