So I am a short guy and brawler I prefer going inside and throwing my combos but some of guys In my gym overcomed me? They just leaning back and keep walking back while leaning and I can't hit them or reach, but they cant punch me with normal power too because they just lean and keeps backing off till they catch me with counter jab. Any ideas?

Throw morr jabs when attempting to go inside, or use more movement whether that's bovbing and weaving or sidestepping. Also work on your physical strength cause if you wanna fight inside you can't be getting outmuscled

Think about it, if your leaning back and get hit in body, you naturally come back in and hunch over to protect your body (you can do that without bring your head back in also)

Pressure using multiple jabs to the chin area. Then throw straight rights to his belly and try overhand rights to his chest. If you can get him to stop when you make contact add in left hooks to his kidney and ribs.
Leaning away goes back to Jack Johnson but most young fans remember Ali getting away with it. You need great reactions to use
this bad technique with any success.
Punch the area "closest" to you to start with!
You can always step on his lead foot to slow his progress down!!

Also, if you're short fast feet is a must. If he leans back irregardless of whilst walking backwards or not throw your straight right whipst jumping in as it's hard go generate power for the guy going backwards. As a southpaw if anyone leans back i jump in with a straight left and they dont lean back again.

I sparred a guy who did this a lot, he had a great jab and above average footwork but that was about it. To solve this problem just throw a lot more jabs. He'll be able to slip only one or two before he runs out of places to lean so throw at least 3 jabs. Don't bring the jab all the way back in between, keep it in his face then follow up with the right.
Guys like that look good for the first round or so but once you figure em out its like playing chess with a little kid.
