Is it better to have rest days or train almost everyday

When it comes to the hips.

    So

Sparring, shadow boxing, heavy bag work, mitts, even weights exercises and running which involves the legs also use the hips.

For someone trying to gain as much control as possible over stubborn hips is it best to train them everyday or to have rest days ?

It seems athletes do one thing and gym goers do another, I dont believe all athletes are on roids, I do believe all serious athletes train nearly every single day, which seems to go against the "science" that it is more optimal to have rest days than to train everyday

With regards to recovery of the nervous system.

As far as I know even boxers undergoing training camps only train 6 days a week rather than 7. Specifically regarding hips, you might be able to use an upper body workout day as a rest day, but a full rest day where you don't do anything at all seems better. There is such a thing as overtraining. Just my two cents though, I'm not a physical therapist or anything so there may be others who are more qualified to comment.

There is no upper body in boxing, almost everything uses the lower body, this isnt a body building split

if you have stubborn hips chances are you are flat footed which = lack of speed, athleticism, and agility.

          start taking dancing classes...

start participating in a myriad of athletic activities like basketball, american football, hockey, tennis, parkour, break dancing, regular dancing with the stars type dancing.... to improve your overall athletic muscle memory.....

smdh... pirouette or defensive variations of it are employed by the defensive masters of this sport like pernell whitaker, pep and rigondeaux to diffuse an on rushing offensive attack...

i dont even know why i bother with you....

michael jordan won 3 more championships because he augmented his athleticism by trying out for professional baseball...it actually helped, not hurt his career unlike the mainstream superficial analysis of his dalliance in baseball.

that kind of analytical insight you wont find anywhere else in the world but here....

but you wont be getting none from me ever again....

ok well you probably have merit with your answer but my question was about nervous system recovery times so your answer is inane
