Hooking Off the Jab Technique

Tommy hears had one of the fastest and most effective jab+left look combos I ever recall seeing. Inspired me to drill that to no end.

I never liked the combo myself, but I used to throw it if i had a guy against the ropes so I could control the distance. I would stick the jab without stepping into it, then use my right hand to protect my chin kind of peek-a-boo style because you got to expect a right hand counter, then get on my toes and let the left hook fly.

I remember doing that one time and the guy went under my hook and i missed, then he grabbed me by the waist like he was gonna hold me, so I dropped my hands to try to push him off me and he caught me dead on the chin with a looping right hand and hurt me. He threw that looping right when his head was down by my waist too. He just got lucky that it caught me on the button.
