    Exactly... Glad you can understand.

Btw, Modesto ain't no joke... Plenty of pendejo's to go around..

    Different topic....

Almonds are expensive here in Tokyo, how are almonds priced?

    Metric tonne? Pound?

I hate to assume... But forgive my ignorance.... Are your almonds presold? To big corporate California Almond conglomerates?

Almonds are expensive here in Tokyo.

I just like making money. 1 ton, how much FOB?

    Peace.

Plenty of crazy MFer's back in the day in Modesto and even more nowadays.

As far as the Almond industry goes. Pricing varies on the overall harvest of farmers and quality of the Almond. These past couple years with the drought going on in the valley, water has been very scarce and people are having to tap their water wells deeper and deeper and that comes at a price for the farmer in which effects the market and drives up prices.Plus with the available water we get is coming at a higher charge. So all those things drive up prices.

For my almonds, i have about 2 big contracts with companies that buy up my almonds. About 50% to Blue Diamand, 25% to this nut company in Chico who in turns resell them to candy companies and then the other the other remaining amount we have smaller contracts and we also sell to local people out of our headquarters and farmers market

Not to get to deep but i usually harvest around 2400 pounds per acre and i get around 1.75 a pound. I have around a little under 2000 acres. With all my overhead, equipment, labor, maintance and etc. You can make an OK living.

My girls family sells cookies, candies, etc. but the cost of Almonds in really expensive here in Tokyo. I was curious about it to help them drive down their costs. I assume you must rent bees to help up your harvest?

Modesto is definitely more crazy now, Fresno too. I got family from all over the valley. One cousin grows g****s in Selma and he said costs are high to produce them.

He does farmers markets to get rid of his extra raisins and pockets some extra cash.

        What generation grower are you?

I rent bees for our pollination and that can be a generally big cost, but i have a great guy i have been dealing with. I use his bees to pollinate my trees and he uses that so his bees can make honey. California produces most of the almonds worldwide. The reason the prices are so high over there is that they get their almonds from California. With the prices being higher here because of the drought and lack of water the almond prices are going to be felt even higher overseas. They have to get the almonds over their and with the almond industry charging more and then the shipping cost its going to be expensive.

          Im third generation.

I will let my girls family know. They own 5 very popular cookie and candy stores.

Thanks for the info, will pass it on.
