haven't owned one yet. usually i just wear the typical Nike Frees but im getting tired of it now and there are times when the sole of my feet feels sore.
I was using Nike and adidas boxing/wrestling shoes for years and just switched to Puma trainers. They are snug against the sides of your feet so lateral movement is tight, and they are contoured at the bottom so you aren't going flat-footed. Has helped me out quite a bit. Moving quicker and not having knee pain.

any tips?
Try adidas boxing hog 2 - beginner shoes for 50$.
They do their job and are very cheap
Nike Mercurial for 90$ are good shoes but mine ripped apart on the lace area
(upper tongue area). The constant lacing up rips the lace holder.
Not the best for bigger feet
Nike Hyper KO for 180$
they are very expensive but they are really good.
Great quality and good comfort.
