    Golovkin training with light weights

I assume these are Abel Sanchez' methods that he is using. It's a bit of a contrast from what Khan and Beterbiev were doing in the other thread.

To each their own man, personally I dont train my boys with weights and wont do so unless their light (3-5lbs max) ankle or wrist weights. But I think given 1s style would depend on how or what they should use not so much what the trainer uses for everyone. No 2 fighters are the same so a good coach works with what they have in front of them not by using what worked with the last guy. But now that you mention Khan, I remember seeing a video of Hunters gym and his fighters lift heavy weights.

... it rather looks like a warm up to me...

It's just interesting to see the different approaches. From heavy weights to very light weights to no weights, boxers seem to have success no matter how they train. I guess the important thing is to work hard.

Golovkin even does isometrics in the full video. 10 second holds in groups of 4. 3 sets of that.

Do you think he's not also weight lifting? I'm sure he is even thought I didn't find videos of him weight lifting. But it's obvious that he does, at least to me.

This is just complementary exercises, I believe.

I posted the full video, man. Those are the heaviest weights he used.

It's possible he does other weight lifting but I've never seen him do it. Apart from flipping over a kettlebell on the ring apron to work his forearms.

He has a very strong upper body. I think he also does weight training at least 3x a week. You don't get strong by just doing some small weights and some push ups. These guys are pros, I believe they do weight training. Muscles don't just grow. They probably don't have cameras in the establishment where he does the weight training. They have morning sessions and afternoon/evening sessions. That you saw the entire video doesn't mean he's not lifting weights somewhere else. They don't get those bodies without the weight lifting.

Floyd has a strong looking upper body too and all he does is a similar routine of punching with dumbbells, along with dips and pull ups and ab work.

You don't have to be a serious weight lifter to look like that.

Steroids can make you gain muscles without training much. If you see someone muscular that doesn't lift weights, then think twice.

Anyway, I've seen pics/videos of Floyd doing shoulder press exercises with two people helping him, with really heavy weight. So I think you're just ignoring that part of their training.

                  EDIT:

Mayweather after two months in jail:

Do you believe he didn't weight lift in jail? I'm sure he couldn't box in jail... but they have weights to lift.

Can you post a link to these pics/vids? I don't mind admitting I'm wrong as long as I see proof.

As for steroids I have no way of knowing whether or not Golovkin uses them.
