Same way as Orthodox fighting a southpaw just opposite punches ie right hook instead of left hook

      Some points

#1 Your primary defense is not your guard. You are inevitably open to the right hand because the angles are open. You avoid the right hand through movement and taking superior angles.

#2 Your primary angle is the outside angle.

This means getting your lead right foot outside of his lead left foot. This angle takes away the right hand and makes it your left and right vs. his left.

#3 Everyone knows about the outside angle. The real expert southpaws know how to work the inside angle.

This is my preferred angle because I love to work the left to the body. And since everyone is trying to get the outside angle on a southpaw its very easy to take the inside angle.

#1 Your primary weapon is your straight left. The most basic combination to set up the straight left is the double jab, straight left.

#2 A left uppercut is a great compliment to the straight left. You are going to get a lot of orthodox fighters trying to anticipate and duck the straight left. Double jab, left uppercut or feint straight left, left uppercut.

#3 You have to work on developing your right hook. This is the best jab counter in your arsenal. Anytime your opponent jabs they are open for the right hook. If you feel a jab on your right glove the right hook should go off like a trip hammer. Haggler dominated the middleweight division for years with a devastating right hook.

Like the above poster said, the straight left is your primary weapon. That and your jab...southpaws should always beat the orthodox fighter in a jabbing war. The right hook is the absolute best counter in the world for a southpaw. I am basically repeating what someone else said but yea stick to those things and you should be good.

Careful about working the inside angle until you get some experience fighting southpaw against orthodox. You're basically putting yourself in the danger zone. A lot of pros get into trouble thinking they'll switch and step inside, only to catch some brutal right hands for their trouble. Keep stepping outside to stifle his game and to keep your lead foot from getting stepped on. When you get comfortable, try playing the inside angle briefly. If it's not your native stance, you're giving up coordination to the other guy in hopes to strike at angles he's unprepared for. That means you want to avoid being an easy target.

Lots of not committed jabs fast like Ali's, no moving your weight forward into them.

Lots of foot work to avoid the cross and get the best angles (on both sides dynamically), u shd be better than him since u are used to it,a nd you should have very good cardio

Lots of awkward head movement to avoid all punches esp the cross see witticker

A catchers mitt ready for the cross

Watch his left hook too and the overhand version, and watch lead long left hooks to set up a right hand

Tie up safe and well from the awkward stances that allow room on the left/his right danger side

You should easily out point them, and then you should have much easier power exchanges as they take risks to take you out.

Aim to stay safe and out point them, only let the KO happen if they take risks when they get desperate to take you out. ie Box dont try to take em out

Despite popular advice the southpaw jab is extremely effective, only the orthodox jab is at a disadvantage due to experience and it not being tailored for mirrored stances
