How many more calories beyond my daily caloric needs do you recommend in order to gain around 1lb per week? Also, should I drink water during my workouts?

There are loads of bulked up losers out there.
Bodybuilding and boxing are not compatible.
You will build extra muscle, if done well it will be highly functional and increase power and strength, but you will still have the heart and lungs of a middleweight in a cruiser weight division, plus those smaller organs will have to carry that extra muscle mass, also the guys in the cruiser weight division will have naturally larger core muscles and will be more powerful than you, they will have naturally larger heads and necks and take a shot better than you and they will have naturally larger hearts and lungs etc and will have better endurance than you.
Some development is essential, but you want the minimal amount of muscle you can get away with and you want to maximize what that muscle can do (its more about nervous system adaption than building nice muscles). You want to be like a Ferrari, not a dodge viper. ie maximum power to weight ratio, not just shed loads of powerLast edited by AlexKid; 01-07-2016, 04:45 AM.

Eat in a 500 calorie surplus (work out your BMR properly including your cardio from boxing training)
definatley drink water, it's important.
