    Re-making my training schedule ?

    Hello guys !
As the weather is getting hot and i have a sea in my area , i want to swim (as a training ,not as a hobby or something). My current schedule is :

Get up at 6am , run for 5 miles (5-6 sprint included) and return home.
    Boxing at 6 or 8pm , (3 times a week power focused , 3 times a week speed focused)
    Every sunday is offday.

"My swimming times" ideas and their (+)'s and (-)'s :

    A) Morning :

+There will be no need to remake schedule as it's just replacing running to swimming.(See the (-)'s )
+There will be still at least 12 hours between my trainings.

-There are no public buses that have beach route. They start at 8am. (It's far so by walking i will have to get up at 3am or something)
-If i will get there at 8:30 (it's early as possible) , i probably will get sunburns by the end of the cardio as it's too hot here.

    B) 5pm :

    +Best time for skin safety.

-As there will be no time for rest for another session , i will have to swim before or after boxing session. Sounds bad i know but doing the boxing session in morning will not be very efficient.

    C )

If there is something in your mind that is C

Maybe i'm thinking too complicated ,i don't know but it reaallly confused me.

(Sorry if I repeat stuff you already said) Replace running with swimming because if you tried to do both, that would probably be too much cardio. I would also take Saturday off too because swimming is entire body unlike running which is just leg conditioning. You want to give your muscles enough time t recover, even in an endurance sport like boxing.

Yes i'll replace running with swimming but the session times are the problem. Don't know how to incorporate swmming with boxing

Unless you are heavy and your knees arent good I would keep the running, you need that leg strength and stamina for boxing.

So replacing completely running with swimming is a bad idea ? Also yes i'm light. I actually swim 1-2 day a week (as i doing it at late day time , it replaces my boxing sessions this times).

BTW , my grammar is bad as it's not my native language , i hope you can understand what i'm saying guys :dD:d:d

Well have a look at pro fighters, the only guys who seem to do a lot a swimming are the HWs, the rest pretty much do road work, long distance and sprints.

You want to box but you are ditching training sessions for swimming?!?

If you want to box then you need to be in the boxing gym as much as possible.

I'm in the gym every season and six days a week except summer season In summer , it's four days a week cause i like swimming. As i love both boxing and swimming and there is a problem with incorporate the both , i created this thread In all the other seasons , i always do roadwork.

                You can't replace running IMO.

The closest I've ever heard of any top fighters doing that, is Diaz use to do nothing but stair machine.

Stair machine is hell and builds some nice muscle too. I use to use it.

I tried adding swimming to my routine, and also to semi-replace running and I didn't like it. I dunno why, it just felt weird, not to mention it's a pain in the ass to have to go to a pool and get in and out. Very time consuming.
