I personally eat 5 meals a day, it keeps your metabolism going.

Eat lean sources of protein like tuna/salmon or chicken/turkey breast but any lean meat will do.

Also eat low gi carbs like rolled oats for breakfast, brown rice for lunch (lunch is a good time to load up on your daily carbs) and bean salads.

You can also limit your carb intake at dinner if you arent doing a lot of physical activity.

Feel free to have a cheat meal once per week as a reward.

This is just some basic things you can do but I also know that Jas really into diet if you want to pm him some tips as well.
I do eat a lot of chicken and turkey breast so I might be getting more protein than I thought I don't like Tuna, I can do salmon.

I appreciate the info man. Really appreciate the suggestions, now I have a clear idea of what to include into my diet.

Golovkin, look into Intermittent Fasting, you're pretty much already doing it right now. It works for a lot of people, myself included, so don't let people tell you that only eating one meal a day is awful for you (if you want to continue doing this that is). I would just suggest cleaning up the diet a bit and making sure you're drinking enough water all day.

No problem, just make sure that you set small realistic goals for yourself as well as your ideal weight/fitness level.

Im not sure that fad diets are very good, eating only once per day or no carbs, I havent heard of any pro athletes that do these type of diets.

Dont knock it if you havent tried it.
I've experienced this. Its alot easier than eating bland ass foods all day.

I found out about 2 months ago that I've been doing it. I only eat once, and I don't even eat anything else after I eat. So as soon as I finish eating, I don't even use the 4 hour window to touch anything else but water.

I read that the Macedonians, the Greeks and Romans, our hunter-gatherer ancestors, not to mention the followers of Elijah Muhammed, all ate one meal a day.

I have lost 5 more pounds since making this thread.

I'm making a conscience effort to put in cleaner stuff in my body. Water is not a problem, I love water. I can't have a meal without it.

Thanks for your time and advice!

I have been all this time. I have tried the extreme/strict approach about two years ago (strict diet / salads / chicken / no candy), lost around 15 pounds and broke down because I wasn't having my normal meals/cravings.

I learned from it and balanced having what I liked with what I should eat, IN MODERATION, and it served as a tranquilizer for me during the night because I knew I already had what I might be craving.

I'm not an athlete, not even close. I live a very sedentary type of lifestyle. I do go out frequently but to the movies, mall, bars lol. But most of the time, I'm sitting down.

First. Your diet you MUST change it. You must drop the carbs brother. You MUST. I stopped eating carbs all together for like two months. Sugar is basically a poison and so is flour. If you cannot stop eating refined sugars and flours do not continue reading because you wont be able to handle this. There are scientific studies confirming that cancer cells eat sugars, just something to think about. If you have been eating low calorie and consuming alot of candies and carbs you have neglected all of your bodies nutrition. In the other hand you have been providing any cancerous cells in your body all the nutrition they need to thrive. Be careful man sugar can be as bad as drinking and smoking. Its an addiction.

Second. You need to eat only fats and protein. Basically ketosis. Mine wasn't exactly ketosis because but I still got the effects from ketosis checking up on it via keto sticks that they sell at CVS. How many calories have you been eating? I was eating probably up to 3000 to 4500 calories every single day. Never lost a pound never put one on either.

In three weeks I went from incline benching 205 to 245 but I worked hard for it. I went to the gym constantly. My pecs were freaking huge and my back was scultped.

You can do it too. But how bad do you want it?
I read the post last night but I wasn't sure how to react to it. I have seen some of that sugar-cancer connection propaganda around so you scared me a bit.

It's not like I'm having A LOT of candy. I don't eat more than 250 calories of candy a day. AND SOMEDAYS, I don't even eat ANY sugar. I don't drink SODAS at all, WATER is the only thing I drink.

I went to a local natural center yesterday and bought some gluten free chocolate chips. I'm making a conscious effort to try and improve my flaws.

I can also LIVE without flours... kind of. I'm not addicted to it. Candy is harder to eliminate completely.

Anyhow, regardless of whether the connection is there between sugar-cancer... I know for a fact I'm better off without them. I haven't found the chocolate replacement in fruits. I know it is an addiction because I literally crave chocolate hard and get uneasy about it to the point I grab the Snickers bar, put it in my pocket while I ponder lol! No joke, this happened yesterday.

I'm eating 1,400 calories per day on AVERAGE. Yesterday, I had 1,000 calories only. Other days I have 1,600... I have only gone above 2,000 like 5 times in the past year.

ALSO!!!! I am not trying to look toned, muscular or strong AT ALL. I just want to be lean. My intentions are not to play sports or bodybuild or get tough. I'm trying to stay LEAN and HEALTHY, those are my two objectives.

You need to start lifting weights and stop eating such few calories.

That's one of the worst things you can do. And do not listen to these people with these crazy theories, diets, intermediate fasting, eating 5-6 meal a day bs, and whatever other nonsense idiots have been spreading around for years.

And yes, you can still eat carbs, and even a little bit of candy. Just not much.

You just need to workout and make sure calories out > calories in. Get good sleep, stay consistent. That's it..
